The flanged form of the family
UCF units present the insert bearing in its flanged form: the bearing carried in a flange that bolts flat to the machine frame. Where a UC insert presumes a housing the buyer already holds, the UCF is ordered as the unit for a mounting face.
When UCF is the right order
Order UCF where the mounting is a flat face and the unit is replaced whole — the common agricultural and conveyor arrangement. Order the UC insert where the housing is sound and only the bearing is spent. The two series share the family's codes and bore steps, so a stock list can move between them by application.
| Point | Note |
|---|---|
| Form | Flanged insert unit |
| Mounting | Flat face, bolted flange |
| Ordered by | UCF code and bore |
| Alternative | UC insert, where a housing is reused |
Checking a UCF order
Quote the code and, if the flange is to match an existing bolt pattern, the flange's bolt spacing. The code settles the bearing; the bolt pattern settles the flange, and both are cheaper to state than to return.
The family's buyers
UCF units are stock items for agricultural machinery dealers and general industrial factors. The blog article on UC versus UCF covers which of the two forms each trade tends to order, and why.
