The cone-and-cup bearing

A tapered roller bearing runs conical rollers between a cone and a cup, and the taper geometry lets it carry heavy combined loads. In wheel service the form is the classic separable bearing: the cone assembly and the cup are handled as a matched set, and the design appears in hub arrangements built around adjustable, serviceable bearings.

Single row and double row forms

The catalogue publishes single-row and double-row tapered roller bearings among the wheel bearing types. Single-row sets are the traditional paired fitment on a stub axle; double-row forms package the pair into one unit for cartridge-style hubs.

Ordering a tapered set

Order by the OE number, and keep cone and cup together in the order: a new cone on a worn cup repeats the failure. Where an inquiry lists only the cone number from the old bearing, the match is completed against the family listings and confirmed before quotation.

Tapered or angular contact?

The two groups serve different hub designs and are not alternatives for the same corner. The old unit settles it: rollers mean tapered, balls mean angular contact. The family page shows both groups side by side.
